DALAT: The Parent and Teacher Associations (PTA) are asked to make a letter of application to the federal Ministry of Education (MOE) before implementing a project in the school involved.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said although it takes a long time, it needs to be done.
“All projects that involve upgrading or facilities in schools do require approval from the Ministry of Education.
“Only projects related to activities do not require approval from the MoE,” she said when officiating at the SMK Dalat PTA general meeting, here, today.
At the same time, Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, said that projects that did not have the approval of the MoE hindered several Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) in the state constituencies.
“The state cabinet meeting has identified this problem regarding the implementation of the RTP projects which had to be postponed.
“This is because the projects have yet to receive approval from the MoE.
“We are also aware that each constituency is allocated a total of RM5 million and this also involves RTP projects in schools,” she explained.
She added that schools will experience losses either in the form of projects or facilities if the allocation is not fully used.
At the same time, she also declared open the Open Hall of SMK Dalat Phase Two and the Figura Sculpture of SMK Dalat PTA.
