KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap officiated the thanksgiving and appreciation dinner hosted by the JKKK Kampung Lubok Buan.
The event marked the successful completion of the first phase of the village hall upgrading project, undertaken by the Sarawak Public Works Department and generously funded with RM100,000 from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023 initiative.

During the event, concerns were raised by Tuai Rumah Michael Mada and village committee members about certain vital amenities within the village hall, specifically focusing on the state of the toilets, community kitchen, gutters, and roofing.
Recognising the need for additional support, Yap pledged to submit a request for an extra RM100,000 in funding under his RTP 2024 initiative to address these concerns.
“This additional allocation will be directed towards the second phase of upgrading works to address the specific concerns raised by the village committee.
In his address to the residents of Kampung Lubok Buan, he also stressed the importance of unity in supporting the dynamic and integrity-driven leadership of the Sarawak government under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He praised the government’s track record of implementing over 150 initiatives since 2017, contributing to stability, progress, and prosperity for the people of Sarawak.
Yap encouraged the community to remain united and work collaboratively towards a brighter and more progressive future.
