DARO: Twenty-three more students from the constituency here have successfully secured offers for admission to higher education centers this year.
According to Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad, this brings the overall number of student admissions to 76 for the year 2023.
“Alhamdulillah, every year sees an increase in the number of children from Daro who have been offered the opportunity to pursue higher education.
“The Sarawak government will continue to assist students seeking admission to higher education institutions. May they all continue to succeed,” he said.
Safiee made these remarks while officiating at the Incentive Presentation Ceremony for Students Entering Higher Education Institutions at the Daro State Service Centre last tuesday (Nov 14).
He added that a total of 427 students had been granted incentives since 2016, involving an allocation of RM106,550.
In another development, Safiee attended the opening ceremony of the Daro Da’o Night Market at the Daro Festival ground.
He highlighted that the Daro Da’o Night Market was another initiative aimed at supporting small entrepreneurs and boosting the local economy.
“This effort by the Matu and Daro District Council aims to provide opportunities for those who wish to generate incomes through entrepreneurship.
“We hope this initiative becomes an opportunity that can be utilised to increase people’s incomes through business,” he said.
In light of this, he invited everyone to visit the Daro Da’o Night Market, which would open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5.30 pm to 10 pm.
Present at the event were Daro District Officer Bujang Rahman Seli, Matu Daro District Council acting secretary Sabli Razak and other guests.
