MUKAH: The Christmas festival will see the local residents and the surrounding areas converging at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja, here from Dec 1 to 3.
Mukah District Office administrative officer, Nolin Gendang said that various activities would be held throughout the celebration.
“Among them are the Christmas Parade, folk sports, karaoke competitions, stage performances by artistes from Peninsular Malaysia, aerobics and so on.
“Accordingly, the opening ceremony of this festival will be officiated by Deputy Minister of Economy and Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib,” he told Suara Sarawak.
Commenting further, he said, the ceremony would be held on Dec 2 at 9 am while the Christmas Parade is at 6 pm on the same day.
He said the festival is coordinated by the Mukah District Office and the Association of Sarawak Churches Mukah branch in collaboration with the Mukah Service Centre.
Lucky draws will also be held and the public stand a chance to win exciting prizes such as television sets, laptops, smartphones and more.
Therefore, he invited the people around Mukah to come together to enliven this festival.
