BINTULU: A lorry driver faced serious injuries after his vehicle collided with a lamp post along Jalan Tun Hussin Onn last night (Nov 18).
Firefighters from Bintulu station were promptly rushed to the scene in front of the Bintulu district police headquarters (IPD) after receiving a distress call at 10.07pm.
Upon arrival, the rescue team confirmed that the lorry had veered off the road, ultimately crashing into a lamp post.
The impact left the 34-year-old driver with severe injuries, and he was pinned in his seat.
Extrication works were then carried out to liberate the victim from the wreckage.
Once freed, the injured driver was handed over to paramedics to be taken to the hospital for immediate treatment.
The rescue operation concluded after ensuring that the situation was safe.
