Sarikei MP allocates RM1.5 mln from RTP fund for road repairs

KUCHING: A sum of RM1.5 million has been set aside for the implementation of road maintenance projects in Meradong constituency.

Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the allocation from his Rural Transformation Project (RTP) fund also includes the construction of additional infrastructure in the area.

“The initiative will benefit the community by enhancing the road system for improved accessibility and convenience,” he said.

Recently, Sarikei Parliamentary Service Centre officer Gung Chiu Kion, who represented Huang, inspected several project sites.

Gung (3rd right) inspects the surrounding area at Rumah Stephen and Rumah Angil Sungai Gemuan that is frequently flooded.

Joining him were other officers from the service centre and Meradong and Julau District Council assistant engineer Churchill Barrak.

Concurrently, they engaged with local residents to better understand their requirements, ensuring that upon completion, the project will effectively cater to the needs of the community.

Among the road maintenance and infrastructure projects are at Rumah Rentap Batu 6, Jalan KJD Sg Rayah, Jalan Temudak Baru, Jalan Nian Sing Batu 3, Jalan KJD, Jalan Rumah Riti Sungai Bakong, Jalan Fun Lin Hou, Jalan Sing Ba Labas, Jln Lorong 9 Sungai Labas, Jalan Rumah Giling Sungai Mador, Rumah Angil Sungai Gemuan, and Bintangor Iban Methodist Church cemetery (GMIPB).
