LUNDU: A lorry driver narrowly escaped a potentially fatal crash without sustaining any injuries along Jalan Lundu-Pandan today (Nov 28).

The accident occurred around 11.40 am near Kampung Sebuluh as the driver is believed to have lost control of the lorry.

A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that firefighters from the Lundu station were dispatched to the scene, about 6 km away, following a distress call.

Upon arrival, the team discovered that a 13-ton lorry, loaded with soil, had overturned at the roadside.

Fortunately, the driver managed to free himself from the lorry without sustaining any injuries.

The driver also declined the firefighters’ offer to be taken to the hospital for a medical check-up.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the rescue team returned to their station.
