A CONSULTING firm specialising in human resources has been appointed by the Sarawak government to evaluate and propose improvements to the Sarawak civil service scheme.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said the findings from the study will serve as guidelines for enhancing the scheme.
“The improvement will be in terms of incentives, career advancement, facilities, rewards, welfare and others,” he said.
Awang Tengah, who is also the Second Minister of Natural Resource and Urban Development, was delivering his ministerial winding-up speech in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) today.
The Sarawak government, he added, always pays attention to and appreciates civil servants, especially in enhancing their competencies to ensure world-class service delivery.
“To achieve this goal, various initiatives, including training programmes, have been implemented.
“Some of the training programmes conducted, include the Senior Fellowship Programme, Advanced Management Programme, Oxford Centre of Islamic Studies (OXCIS) Sabbatical Programme, and Lee Kuan Yew Senior Fellowship in Public Service Programme.
Through these programmes, he added, several officers have been sent to renowned universities such as Harvard University, Cambridge University, University of Oxford, and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore.
