KUCHING: A group of Sarawak non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) is hosting the Human Rights Festival Sarawak 2023 (HRFS 2023) at La Promenade Mall on Dec 9 and 10.
The programme represents a collective effort to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
“Human Rights Day, observed worldwide on Dec 10 each year, marks the proclamation of the UDHR by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris in 1948. This year’s theme is ‘Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All’,” said the group in a statement today.
The programme features an array of activities catering to all age groups, with an emphasis on interaction, learning, and fun scheduled to take place from 10 am to 9 pm at the Level 1 Exhibition Hall, La Promenade Mall, Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.
Among the event highlights, approximately 15 NGOs will showcase their advocacy or human rights work at booths; film screenings and workshops; talks and discussions; and entertainment and activities such as Zumba and a cartoon drawing workshop.
