Bank donates equipment to spinal association

SIBU: More than 200 patients at the Sibu Spinal Cord Injury Association (SSCIA) here are expected to benefit from an Electric Tilt Table and a Treadmill, worth RM21,199, donated by OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (OCBC Al-Amin) to fulfill their physiotherapy needs.

OCBC Sibu branch senior manager of, Ho Lee Chee, delivered the equipment to SSCIA’s Permai facility today (Dec 2). The equipment is expected to play a crucial role in helping patients strengthen muscles and improve cardiovascular fitness.

“Strengthening muscles is key to achieving greater functional independence, smoother recovery, and better health.

“We hope our contribution will make a positive difference in the lives of those recovering from spinal cord injuries,” she said.

SSCIA, founded in 2012, aims to help residents regain respect and confidence, fostering hope for a return to an active and fulfilling life.

“Our simple physiotherapy room, established in 2015, needed these vital additions to make therapy sessions more effective,” said its president Liu Bee Sang.

Liu thanked OCBC Al-Amin for their support, especially during challenging times. With a history of over 90 years in community support, OCBC Bank continues to focus on enabling sustainable futures for individuals and businesses.
