Mukah to send two teams to state-level lion dance championship

MUKAH: Mukah will participated in the 2nd Lee Onn Group Challenge Cup state-level lion dance championship in Kuching on Dec 8. 

Mukah Dragon, Lion and Wushu Dance Association chairman Ho Ing Siong said two teams, namely Medan Setia Raja Mukah Dragon and Lion Dance Club and the Zong Ho Mukah Friendship Association, will be representing Mukah.

“These two teams have been diligently practising every night to prepare for the tournament. The training sessions are taking place at SJKC Chong Boon from Mondays to Fridays, 7pm to 9pm.”

Ho stated that the goal is for the Mukah teams to qualify for the finals and secure a top 10 position, elevating Mukah’s reputation. 

He also highlighted the uniqueness of the Mukah team, comprising members from various races and religions, contributing to its distinctive identity.

Zong Ho Mukah Friendship Association vice-chairman Hii Bee Kwong and Mukah Youth and Sport assistant officer Mohammad Arbi Rosli were present during the training session at SJKC Chong Boon on Tuesday (Dec 5).
