MIRI: Minister for Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin has described the Kenyalang Tourism Booster (KTB) as not only a platform at empowering the local community, especially those in the rural areas.

He said it also helped them to plan strategy in promoting their homestay businesses.

“We encouraged the local community to learn the social media to promote their homestay and KTB is always eager to help,” he said on Sunday.

Lee was speaking at the launching of KTB’s three-day programme at Kampung Pengkalan Lutong Miri. The programme has been held since Dec 8.

At the event, he also launched the new KTB’s Homestay logo.

Also present were Sarawak Innovative Youth Cooperative (KOBIS) chairman Zaiwin Kassim and Miri deputy mayor Arrifin Mohamad.

Prior to Kampung Pengkalan Lutong Miri, the programme had been held in Sibu, Sarikei and Bintulu.
