KUCHING: A total of 94 orphans and children from B40 families were awarded RM200 each for Christmas shopping, along with an additional RM50 as ‘duit raya’.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan said this initiative led by the Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF), represents a collaborative effort involving three Aeon Malls and three Aeon Big Hypermarkets, with a total allocation of RM60,000.

“I commend the MAF for its commitment to bringing joy to these children and families. Their efforts are not only commendable but also serve as an inspiration to us all,” Snowdan said when attending the AEON Mesra Christmas 2023 programme here recently.

He added, “In Sarawak, despite our diverse religions and ethnicities, we have continued to demonstrate mutual understanding and respect, uniting as one. This unity is reflected in our hearts, minds, and voices.”
