MIRI: The implementation of a Projek Rakyat to upgrade a section of the existing road at Tudan Resettlement Scheme area, involving road widening, is expected to free up more space for stage buses and increase road capacity, according to Minister for Transport, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.

“Once completed, it will benefit more than 2,000 households within the Tudan Resettlement Scheme Area,” he disclosed on Monday (Dec 11) after conducting a site visit at the project.

Lee, who is also the Senadin assemblyman, added that Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has approved a special grant worth RM4.72mil to fund the project.

The project will involve road widening, covering 6km with a width of 6m. Lee revealed that the project commenced on Nov 21 this year, with the progress currently at 9 per cent, and is expected to be completed on May 20 next year.
