LIMBANG: A wooden house in Kampung Binjai, Jalan Melitam, was razed to the ground in a wee-hour fire today, leaving a family of seven homeless.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as the family were awayfrom their home during the 1.09 am incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Limbang station were dispatched to the scene, about 23km away, after receiving a distress call.
Despite their prompt efforts, the single-storey house was beyond saving and the extinguishing deed was performed with water sourced from the fire truck.
The team concluded their operation at 3.23 am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
