SARATOK: Rural youth are urged to consider the Sarawak United National Youth Association (SABERKAS) as a vital platform for talent development.

Bell Bernard Aggan, a political secretary to the Sarawak Premier, noted that SABERKAS continues to play a relevant role in empowering the development of the younger generation through various implemented programmes.

Addressing the youth, he encouraged participation in SABERKAS by engaging in the organized programmes and activities.

He further highlighted the organisation’s ongoing efforts to adapt to programme renewal, providing a more directed approach to a planned target group to ensure the sustainability of the youth organisation.

Bell made these remarks during the SABERKAS Sports Carnival (KASUS) 2023, jointly organised by SABERKAS Krian Branch and Krian Recreation Club in Saratok.

Explaining the details of this year’s KASUS, he noted that the Seven-a-side Football Tournament held at the Nanga Assam National School (SK) Field was a central part of the carnival.

Expressing appreciation to SABERKAS Krian Branch chairman Sanggin Amit for his commitment, he highlighted the success of the carnival with the participation of 21 teams.

Meruji FT secured the championship, defeating the PDP Krian team through penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw, earning them a cash prize of RM1500, a trophy, and medals.

PDP Krian received the runner-up position with RM1,000, a trophy, and medals, while third place went to SH FC, earning RM500, a trophy, and medals.

The final round Player of the Year Award was presented to the Meruji FT goalkeeper, and prizes were handed out by Bell.

Special Duty Officer to Deputy Prime Minister II Leonard Jambu and Exco SABERKAS Krian Branch representatives were also present at the event.
