MUKAH: A three-story abandoned shop house in Tanjung Manis’ new market area was ravaged by flames in the early hours today (Dec 24).
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, despite the blaze consuming a pile of trash and old items within the building.
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Tanjung Manis station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 3.10am.
The fire was quickly extinguished using water sourced from the fire truck and a nearby fire hydrant.
The operation concluded at 5.08am, with the surroundings deemed under control and safe.
