KUCHING: The JingleWish Festival at Canaan Square here stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering a thriving start-up ecosystem for young entrepreneurs.

SME Sarawak president Jordan Ong said the festival ,which received support from SME Sarawak, was committed to its mission of bolstering young entrepreneurs and start-ups through various funding schemes such as the Youth Entrepreneur Setup and Youth Technopreneur Development.

“Such a carnival aims to improve the start-up ecosystem for young entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.

“SME Association of Sarawak always believes that public sector involvement is vital to support young entrepreneurs to access both domestic and global markets.

“It also encourages employment services to promote and provide continued guidance on entrepreneurship and self-employment for young people,” he said during the festival at Canaan Square here on Dec 24.

In conjunction with the festival, a Christmas countdown event took place, drawing praise from Kuching South City Council Mayor Datuk Wee Hong who graced the event.

“As your mayor, it warms my heart to witness the vibrant tapestry of our community coming together in the true spirit of Christmas.

“I am proud to say that Sarawak has a unique tradition that sets us apart. In our diverse and rich cultural landscape, every community can come together to celebrate this joyous holiday season,” he added.

The JingleWish Festival at Canaan Square is held from Dec 21 to 31.
