MIRI: A severe fire outbreak caused substantial damage to multiple residences situated near Bandar Baru Permyjaya Tudan, here yesterday (Dec 29).
According to the report, the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at 5.07pm regarding the incident and directed a team from Lutong with the support of the Lopeng fire station to the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters reported that three two-story RPR flat houses were engulfed in flames.
“While the first house was unoccupied, the second house, housing a family of four, was reduced to ashes. The occupants managed to evacuate, and no injuries were reported.
“However, the fire spread to the third house, causing significant damage to the roof. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently under investigation,” it said.
Following the Rescue, Exposures, Containment, Extinguish, Overhaul (RECEO) concept, the firefighting teams deployed strategic suppression efforts.
Two hose lines and four nozzles from the engine pump were employed, with water sourced from the nearby fire hydrant. The coordinated action successfully brought the fire under control and prevented further losses.
