SARATOK: Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri welcomes the support of the Saratok Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry to help boost the socio-economic activities of the community here.
He commended the chamber’s efforts especially in creating business platforms and job opportunities for the local community.
He said this after receiving a courtesy visit from Saratok Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Datuk Wong Thien Beng and committee members today.
The president of Sarawak Federation Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kong Chiong Ung was also present.
He explained that the good relationship between the multi-ethnic and multi-religious community in Saratok cannot be denied.
Therefore, he hopes that the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other organisations could jointly develop Saratok.
The courtesy visit was to invite Mohamad to officiate at an oath-taking ceremony of the members of the Saratok Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Several matters related to Saratok’s Chinese community were also discussed.
Mohamad emphasised that the needs and aspirations of the Chinese community in Saratok were never ignored and they were always involved in development programmes.
