KUCHING: Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada has assured efforts will be intensified to implement all Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects in his constituency.
He said though the implementation process will take some time, the projects will be carried out in phases.
“The implementation process is quite slow but we will make sure it will be carried out and completed, to ensure that no area is left behind in the state government’s development agenda,” he said.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Dr Simon was witnessing the symbolic handing over of the longhouse repair project in Kampung Tema Penggal and the road construction and parking area project at Kampung Sejijag Mawang here yesterday (Jan 3).
The two projects cost about RM250,000 and are expected to be completed within four to six months.
In the meantime, Dr. Simon instructed the village head of Kampung Tema Penggal to identify a suitable new site for another project for the Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Tema Penggal as the previous proposed site was not suitable as it was too narrow and steep.
Earlier, Dr Simon witnessed the handover of two RTP projects in Kampung Reteh Karas and Kampung Lobang Batu Mawang.
The projects included the construction of Kampung Reteh Karas (Phase 1) at a cost of RM150,000 and the installation of tiles for the Kampung Lobang Batu Mawang Church at a cost of RM120,000.
These projects are under the supervision of the Public Works Department (JKR) Serian Division which will be implemented this month and is expected to be completed within one to four months.
