BY MAYA GREEN
So the tears came, like a river — of love
In recall of a sacrifice, one for humanity
When the arrows rained, on the one in love
A raging river overflows, of Love’s purity
The tears that rained — are a river of love
Dousing the fire of hate, of ignorance
Of the sacrifice given, is of selfless love
To drown out selfishness, and intolerance
O the tears, copiously flow — from our eyes
An affirmation of faith, of steadfastness
In the Cause of Love, and of True Sacrifice
To affirm the one, of such blessedness
There is victory — in the seeming defeat
Joy comes, on the back of heartfelt tears
So stand firm, in the face of tyranny’s beat
Of the Light, it glitters in a river of tears
A river that flows — from the Heart of Hearts
Washes away all of the hurt, and the pain
The ache turns to joy, a meeting of hearts
As lovers swim, in Love’s Ocean once again
