KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari maintained an air of mystery when questioned about his favourite English football team during a town hall session last night (Jan 13).

When asked by Prof Datuk Dr Siva Pandian, one of the moderators, about his preferred English football team, Abang Johari responded playfully.

”Usually Manchester United is not bad at all, but Liverpool’s team motto is ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, he said.

Siva’s question to Abang Johari, which was pointed towards the strong display of Sarawak’s racial unity, received a loud reception from the audience present.

The town hall session, titled “Seven-Year Townhall Session with YAB Premier,” brought together individuals aged 18 to 40, including students, young CEOs, working professionals, and representatives from youth associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The event, held at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre, attracted over a thousand attendees.

The 90-minute session was also aired live on TVS Channel 122 MYTV, Unifi TV and Astro, as well as New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak facebook page.
