KUCHING: The Painted Cave at Niah National Park, Miri has been temporarily closed for visiting, effective from Jan 13, until further notice.

Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) said the closure is due to damaged plankwalks along the route from Gan Kira to Painted Cave (approximately 3.5km from Park Headquarters), caused by a fallen wood.

“Our team is actively working on repairing the walkways.

“As a precautionary measure, Painted Cave will be closed for visiting until further notice.

“The safety of our visitors is our top priority and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time,” it said in a statement posted on its Facebook page
