KAPIT: Three houses are at risk as an early morning landslide nearly caused serious damages at Lorong Selirik, Taman Yong, here today.
No injuries were reported in the 5.55 am incident, which was caused by continuous heavy downpour since yesterday (Jan 16).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Kapit station were promptly dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, they found that the rubble had almost caused damage to the kitchens of the three houses.
To ensure the safety of the residents, the team installed fences around the affected area to prevent them from approaching the scene.
Residents have been advised to take precautionary measures due to the looming possibility of further ground movement.
