MIRI: A free tuition programme has been launched in Kampung Pengkalan Lutong here recently, aimed at assisting students from low-income families with homework and test preparation.
The programme, organised by Persatuan Kebajikan Pembangunan Komuniti Miri, specifically targets students aged 7 to 16 from the B40 income bracket.
The initiative offers tuition classes designed to provide a “BETTER” educational experience. It focuses on enhancing students’ interest in studies, building their confidence, and helping them to explore their potential.
In addition to academic support, the programme will include motivational talks to inspire the youth and guide them by showcasing various life paths and opportunities available to them.
The programme also incorporates outdoor activities, concentrating on three main areas: Community, Civilisation, and Environment. The objective of these activities is to offer students a broader perspective of the future and to aid in their self-discovery, helping them to uncover their interests and develop skills for a brighter future.
The project, which began this month, will run until March. It was officiated by Miri MP Chiew Choon Man.
