KUCHING: Sarawak Visit Campaign with the tagline “More to Discover” will see 106 tourism events this year.
Kicking off will be the 4th Plaza Merdeka Lion Dance Competition that takes place from today until Jan 6 at Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall here.
Based on the Calendar of Tourism Events for 2019 released by the Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports Ministry, September would be the busiest with 19 events followed by July (17), and August and October (11 each).
January has three events, February (two), March (eight), April (ten), May (seven), June (four), November (nine) and December (five).
Two other events for January are the 9th Hiang Tiang Siang Ti Temple procession and the 23rd Asian Television Awards.
Among the major events for this year are the 23rd Asian Television Awards (Jan 11-13); Baleh-Kapit Raft Safari (April 5-7), Pesta Kaul (April 20-28), Sarawak Harvest & Folklore Festival (April 26-28), 8th International Borneo Frog Race (April 27), Pesta Babulang & Buffalo Rrace Festival
(June 7-9), Rainforest Fringe Festival (July 5-11), Rainforest World Music Festival (July 12-14) and the Borneo Jazz Festival (July 19-21).
