TEBEDU: A group of 64 Indonesian citizens, including 21 women, who were formerly held at the Immigration Depot in Semuja, Serian, have successfully completed their detention and sentences.

According to the Sarawak Immigration Department, on Jan 25, a bus and a truck facilitated the transfer operation to ICQS Tebedu and subsequently to Indonesia.

The Repatriation Programme for Indonesian Citizens, in collaboration with the National Border Crossings Post (PLBN) Entikong and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching, began at 9 am through the ICQS Tebedu entry point.

The individuals were convicted of various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963. The programme is part of an ongoing transfer operation initiated by the Sarawak Immigration Department since the beginning of the year.
