SIBU: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has contributed RM189,464 to the Sibu Kidney Foundation (SKF) for enhancing its Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment System with cutting-edge Aeros AI technology.
According to SKF Board of Directors chairman Temenggung Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming, the donation underscores SKF’s dedication to delivering top-notch healthcare services to the community reliant on hemodialysis treatment.
He stressed the importance of upgrading medical equipment and existing systems to address the growing number of patients and the increasing demand for services.
“This contribution instils hope and assures a better quality of life,” he said in his speech after receiving the donation from Elder Sandy Hall at the SKF Centre here today.
Lau also said that the RO Water Treatment System is not merely a medical device; it serves as a lifeline for individuals undergoing dialysis.
“This technology ensures that the water used in the dialysis process meets the highest standards, safeguarding the health and well-being of our patients at SKF,” he said.
Lau noted that the church had previously donated four dialysis machines; hence, he expressed his gratitude for the church’s unwavering support towards SKF.
