KUCHING: New Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar visited his late wife Datin Seri Fiona Sim Abdullah’s grave at Samariang Islamic cemetery shortly after arriving in Kuching today.

He was joined by his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohamad Sanusi, and other family members and later observed the Zohor prayer at Masjid Jamek.

Earlier, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg welcomed the Head of State at the Kuching International Airport, alongside Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Wan Junaidi received his appointment letter from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara yesterday. He is scheduled to take his oath of office on Monday (Jan 29).
