PADAWAN: Firefighters rescued a 15-month-old girl trapped inside a locked car in front of a supermarket here yesterday afternoon (Jan 29).

The toddler had been stuck in the Perodua Axia car for about 15 minutes before she was freed.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Siburan station were dispatched to the scene, about 9km away, after receiving an emergency call at 1.24pm.

Upon arrival, they promptly carried out the rescue using special equipment and pried open the car door.

The toddler’s parents were relieved to be reunited with their child when the operation ended at 1.39pm.

The toddler is reunited with her parents after Siburan firefighters helped to pry open the car door to rescue the baby girl.
