KUCHING: Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaaar attended the taking of oath and signing the instrument of office of the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim of Johor at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur today.
The same ceremony also witnessed Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, took the oath of office and signing the letter of appointment as the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Sultan Ibrahim and Sultan Nazrin Shah were chosen by the Malay Rulers at the 263rd (Special) Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara on October 27 last year, following the end of the term of office of Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Tuesday. Last Monday, Wan Junaidi was sworn in as the eighth Governor of Sarawak at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
