SIMUNJAN: Local women’s associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been urged to collaborate closely to strengthen their impact on women’s empowerment, irrespective of their diverse backgrounds.
Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee emphasised the importance of unity among these organisations in hosting activities and meetings collectively.
“As women in Simunjan, it’s crucial that we stand together to elevate women’s economic status. It’s essential for us to unite and engage in activities that bolster the competitiveness of women in our community,” she said during a Hi-Tea with Leaders event at the Simunjan District Women’s Entrepreneur House on Thursday.
She also hoped for women’s associations to broaden their scope of collaboration, ensuring that initiatives are inclusive and facilitate the exchange of ideas and insights.
She further encouraged them to develop unique products and skills that could become a source of pride for the local community.
Meanwhile, Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris commended the efforts of the Simunjan Women’s Entrepreneur Home Association for its role in unifying the local women’s organisations.
“By bringing together all women’s groups under one umbrella, their collective voice becomes significantly louder and more influential. In Simunjan, where numerous women’s NGOs exist, their unity can create a formidable force,” he said.
