KUCHING: The Christian community in Sarawak joins fellow Malaysians in celebrating the installation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Association of Churches Sarawak (ACS) chairman Right Revd Datuk Danald Jute extended his congratulations to the King and Queen, Raja Zarith Sofiah.
“In faithfulness to our Biblical mandate in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, we will uphold Their Majesties in our prayers.
“May God grant his favour and blessings upon their Majesties and bestow upon them great wisdom, good health, and deep compassion during their reign of our beloved Malaysia,” he said in a statement.
Danald, who is also the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, further hoped the country which is richly blessed with diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds, will be more united and continue to enjoy peace, harmony, and prosperity.
