KUCHING: Former Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s youngest daughter, Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib has called the public to pray for her father’s health who is currently unwell.
“Pray for his (Taib) recovery,” she was quoted as saying by New Straits Time in a news report today (Feb 6).
Hanifah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Economy, was approached by the media when met during the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) Conference in Petaling Jaya this morning.
She was responding to a question about Taib’s current condition after being allegedly removed from a private hospital while receiving treatment recently.
Yesterday (Feb 5), Taib’s wife Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib took to her Instagram account and denied that she had removed Taib from a hospital against doctors’ advice.
Earlier, a police report went viral on social media about Taib being checked out from a private hospital by Ragad while he was undergoing treatment.
Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata confirmed in a statement that the police had received a report on the matter.
He said the case was being investigated and appealed to the public not to speculate on the issue as action could be taken against those sharing false information.
