SARATOK: A total of 163 landowners whose properties were affected by the Kupang-Bajau Road project here received compensations amounting to RM1,196,378.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said the project would benefit about 5,000 villagers in Kampung Kupang and six long houses namely Rumah Panjang Rabiah, Andrew Kulih, Patih, Rengan (Selambon), Ambang (Entebu Jaya) and Rumah Panjang Anau (Entebu).
“God willing, the 16.5 kilometre long Kupang-Bajau Road Project will become a reality soon,” he said during the Land Compensation cheque presentation ceremony for the road project at Dewan Sri Krian here.
Mohamad Duri assured the residents that the project estimated to cost RM90 million would be implemented as planned.
“The general perception is that when the land acquisition is completed, the construction work is close.
“Therefore, as a representative of the people, I really hope that the tender procedure for construction work can be carried out this year,” he said.
“God willing, the 16.5 kilometer long Kupang-Bajau Road Project will become a reality soon,” he said.
