Awareness month to be launched on Feb 25

KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Dental Health Division of the Sarawak State Health Department (JKNS) is set to organise the National Oral Cancer Awareness Month Launch Event at The Summer Shopping Mall here.
 
Scheduled to be officiated by Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan, the event will take place on Feb 25. 
 
A variety of activities are planned to mark the launch of this awareness month. 
 
These include dental check-ups and treatments, health and dental exhibitions, dental busker performances, forums with dental experts, and interactive games.
 
“World Cancer Day is commemorated worldwide on February 4 each year. As such, the Health Ministry has taken the initiative to implement Mouth Cancer Awareness Month every February,” JKNS said on a Facebook post.
 
Mouth Cancer Awareness Month aims to raise awareness and encourage the public to participate in efforts to prevent and detect oral cancer early.
 
To this end, members of the public are welcome to visit The Summer Shopping Mall to witness and partake in the activities and join in celebrating together at the venue.
