KUCHING: The Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian extends an open invitation to the public to join in the Chinese New Year and Chap Goh Mei festivities.
Dr Sim, who is also the Batu Kawah assemblyman, said the event will take place at the newly completed multipurpose hall at the former Ang Cheng Ho Quarry, Jalan Batu Kawah tomorrow (Feb 24).
“Please join us for the Chinese New Year and Chap Goh Mei 2024 celebration with the N14 Batu Kawah residents and communities,” he said on Facebook page today (Feb 23).
He also said that the celebrations are scheduled to start at 9 am and will conclude by 11 am.
Marking the 15th day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, Chap Goh Mei falls on February 24 this year, coinciding with what is popularly known as Chinese Valentine’s Day. The occasion traditionally brings families together for a dinner, symbolising the conclusion of the Chinese New Year festivities.
