LIMBANG: Sarawak’s unique unity and visionary leadership have significantly contributed to the state’s development.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan attributed these factors as the state’s strengths leading to its progress.
“The unique social cohesion in Sarawak, bolstered by our visionary leaders and the talents within our community, has propelled us to a new level of developmental achievement. Without our peaceful coexistence and the absence of prolonged racial conflicts, Sarawak wouldn’t have achieved its current state of peace and advancement,” he said.
His speech was ready on his behalf by Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (Food Industry) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, at the Chinese New Year 2024 event organised by the Limbang Division of Chinese Associations.
Awang Tengah also hoped for the Year of the Dragon to further strengthen inter-racial relations within the state.
In support of the celebration, Abdul Rahman announced donations of RM15,000, along with RM20,000 from Awang Tengah.
Also present were Limbang Division Resident Unus Tambi and Awangku Zainal Abidin Datuk Pengiran Jawa, the political secretary to the Premier.
