SERIAN: Two houses belonging to fire victims here are being repaired by the Sarawak government with funding from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus visited the house of Jerry Dinaw in Kampung Riih Daso which was affected by a fire incident several months ago.

Jerry’s house underwent repairs for its roof, windows, doors and walls which was carried last month by a local contractor. The cost of repair for the house was RM35,000.

During John’s visit to the second house, belonging to Dusit Jaul in Kampung Lebor, the Public Works Department (PWD) officials assessed the costs and identified the parts that required repairs.

The report for the house repair costs will be submitted to SDMC for its fund allocation.

Later, the assemblyman also visited Kampung Riih Daso church to monitor its ongoing church’s upgrading project.

The project costs RM135,000 with funds channeled by the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR).
