SABAH: International Women’s Day, a global annual celebration every March, not only commemorates women’s achievements but also raises awareness about global women’s issues.

In honour of this occasion, the Women 100 Award of Inspiration by Small & Medium Industry Women of Sabah (IKSnita) recognises and appreciates successful women for their outstanding contributions across various fields.

The awards serve as a tribute to women who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication.

In a statement on Tuesday (Mar 12), the award was described as a means of dignifying the accomplishments and resilience of women who serve as a source of inspiration, acknowledging their commitment to positive change.

The theme for this year’s event, organised by IKSnita Sabah, is aptly named ‘The Game Changer’.

The celebration, marking its 10th iteration in Sabah, took place on March 10. The theme signifies a commitment to acting as a catalyst for positive change, offering inspiration, and driving transformation to achieve women’s equality and empowerment in Sabah.

The Women 100 Award of Inspiration event serves as a stage to showcase the greatness and resilience of women who have inspired communities and future generations.

The nomination deadline for this prestigious award was Dec 31, 2023, with the announcement of the selected 100 women on Jan 15, 2024.

Simultaneously, in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2024, IKSnita collaborated with HRD Corp to organise the Women SME and Leadership ConForum at the Sabah International Convention Centre on March 10.

The main focus of this event is to empower women in SME entrepreneurship and leadership, covering aspects of business management and workforce management while fostering opportunities, knowledge-sharing, and supporting economic growth and women’s leadership.

The distinguished award recipients included Aishah Edris, Nur Rahmah Ranong Abdullah, Datuk Dr Rashidah Bolhassan, Kuspa Arina Mohamad Bohari, Juita Drap, Dr Asmah @ Rajemah Othman, Dr Dayang Hanani Abang Ibrahim, Norjanah Razali, and Datuk Norhyati Ismail.
