KUCHING: A total of 432 residents from 14 villages in the Santubong area received donations in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
Minister of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) who is also Santubong MP, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri presented the donation to ease the burden of the less fortunate.
She was met by reporters when attending the Ihya Ramadan and handing over of Ramadan contribution for Santubong Parliamentary at Surau Darul Hijrah Blok A Perumahan Darul Hana yesterday.
“I compliment the efforts done by the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara in providing aid to the disabled, the elderly, single parents and other folks here.
“I hope this kind of programme will inspire more people to contribute during this holy month,” she said
Aside from the contribution given, Nancy along with Pantai Damai assemblyman, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi also gave out bubur lambuk to the public in the area.
Also present were Kuching District officer, Sofhi Jebal, Islamic Da’wah Foundation Malaysia (YADIM) Sarawak director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat and others.
