KUCHING: A total of 12,000 ‘Sumbangsih Raya’ packages will be distributed to security and enforcement personnel on duty during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Four types of food and drinks are being prepared, including beef floss, fruit cake, roasted nuts, and instant coffee and tea, for the personnel to enjoy during the festive season.
Additionally, greeting cards are provided as a sincere token of appreciation from the state government to the personnel on duty.
Minister of Women, Children, and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, stated that the recipients include members serving in 11 agencies such as the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Malaysian Prison Department (JPM), and Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM).
Others include the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ), Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA), and Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit (UKPS).
She made these remarks while officiating the Sumbangsih Raya 2024 (SR24) Packaging Ceremony at the Main Hall of Wisma Wanita here yesterday.
She explained that the SR24 Programme is organized to express the concern, appreciation, and gratitude of the Sarawak Government to the personnel involved.
“We want to appreciate their efforts as they are needed during the upcoming festive season for the sake of the nation,” she said.
Furthermore, she added that the Symbolic Handover Ceremony of SR24 will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Wednesday, March 20, at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.
The SR24 programme, an annual initiative organized by the Sarawak Women and Family Department (JWKS), is now in its 34th year.
The Sarawak Media Group (SMG) is also fulfilling a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) through this programme.
