KUCHING: The Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak, in collaboration with innovation and the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), aims to boost productivity and upgrade public sector services and management in Sarawak for greater competitiveness and sustainability.

JAIS director Datuk Khalidi Ibrahim expressed appreciation to MPC Sarawak for their cooperation in the success of the BE initiative in JAIS.

He also thanked all JAIS staff for their commitment and solid support throughout the implementation of this initiative.

“Through seven key criteria: Leadership, Strategy, Information, Customers, Workforce, Process, and Results, I believe the BE initiative will be a stepping stone for JAIS to achieve optimal and continuous excellence on a global level.

“JAIS has been recognised as the first public sector organisation in Sarawak to be awarded the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) certificate through the BE initiative intervention over a period of six months from June to December 2023,” he said in a recent statement.

In the meantime, MPC Sarawak director Dr Mazlina Shafi’i congratulated JAIS for demonstrating commitment and determination in promoting excellence and competitiveness through the BE initiative.

She hopes for further comprehensive cooperation with JAIS through other high-impact productivity initiatives organised by MPC.

“In line with the competitiveness framework measuring business efficiency through organisational agility, the implementation of the BE initiative will spread the concept of BE to organisations in Sarawak, especially the public sector, and become part of the BE community.

“These excellent organisations are expected to serve as reference models and inject spirit and healthy competition among the public sector in Sarawak, in particular.

“The BE initiative is a practical and holistic approach to achieving excellence in all aspects of organisational management, focusing on high-impact organisational productivity improvement.”

Furthermore, public and private organisations in Sarawak are urged to continue implementing the BE initiative to ensure organisational excellence on a global scale.
