KUCHING: Ramadan serves as a meaningful avenue to foster friendships and enhance racial harmony in Sarawak.
Batu Lintang Teacher Education Institute (IPGM) director Dr. Abang Ismail Abang Julhi said that Sarawak’s celebration of festive seasons is a collective effort that transcends religious boundaries.
“It’s not only Muslims who are engaged in purchasing food; non-Muslims also partake enthusiastically. This creates a vibrant atmosphere at the Ramadan bazaars, attracting visitors from various religious and racial backgrounds,” he said when officiating at the Sungkei Perdana IPGM Batu Lintang recently.
The event witnessed the participation of nearly 800 students and staff from the IPGM.
“Through our actions, we aim to embody the principle of unity in diversity,” he added, commending the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of the event.
Dr. Abang Ismail also thanked to the Bank Rakyat Simpang Tiga Branch for their support in making the event possible and confirmed the IPGM’s commitment to organising similar programmes in the future.
