PAKAN: The Christian community in Rumah Nyalak and nearby areas is celebrating the news of the planned construction of a new Borneo Evangelical Church (SIB).

Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom said that the funding request for the church has been submitted to the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR).

“The application for the allocation is currently pending approval,” said Mawan.

Mawan, who serves as an advisor in the Premier’s Office for Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development, was present at the ground-breaking ceremony for the new church in Nyalak Ladong.

He pledged to closely monitor the progress of the funding application with UNIFOR, voicing his anticipation for a prompt approval to serve the needs of the community.
