SRI AMAN: Three drivers were injured after being involved in a multiple-vehicle collision along KM64 on Jalan Sri Aman yesterday (Mar 25).

Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the accident, involving a Proton Waja, two Toyota Hilux pick-up trucks, and a lorry, occurred around 5.30 am.

“The crash is believed to have occurred when a pick-up truck traveling from Sibu to Kuching, skidded and crashed along the road.

“Following the crash, the driver contacted his sibling in Sri Aman to take him and his passenger to Sri Aman Hospital. They left the vehicle unattended on the right lane without any warning signs for other motorists,” he said.

Soon after, a teacher driving a Proton Waja from Sri Aman to SK Sebuyau, collided with the stationary pick-up truck, which was left unattended without warning signs.

Realising an accident had occurred ahead, a lorry traveling from Sri Aman junction towards Kuching, slowed down when passing the area. While slowing down his vehicle, the driver heard a loud noise and found that a pick-up truck had rear-ended his lorry.
