KUCHING: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii has donated RM19,250 to Wan Alwi Tabuan Jaya mosque to fund two of its upcoming programmes.
“Last week, I was invited to attend the breaking of fast event with the mosque’s community. I also took the opportunity to handover an allocation of RM19,250 to the mosque for the organisation of upcoming programmes.
“I was informed that the mosque will be organising two programmes soon, namely the Ramah Tamah Adilfitri programme and the Majlis Ibadah Korban.
“These programmes are annual activities aimed at fostering closer relationship among the congregation and the orphans at the Wan Alwi Tabuan Jaya mosque area,” he said in his official Facebook posting today.
He also said that the mosque committee plays a crucial role in promoting unity among the residents of Tabuan Jaya and Kuching area, which comprises people of various ethnicities and religions.
“For your information, last year my office allocated RM123,600 for the construction of toilets to provide convenience to the mosque’s congregation.
“These new toilets have been completed beginning of this year and have been useful to the congregation,” he said.
