KUCHING: A KK Super Mart convenience store outlet at Jalan Satok was attacked with a molotov cocktail on March 31.
Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah in a statement on Monday confirmed that police had received a report by staff of the convenience store pertaining to the incident.
Ahsmon said in the incident a carton of drinking water was placed in front of the convenience store and was set on fire after the molotov attack.
“The police are actively in search of the suspect and the case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code.
“The Section provides for a jail term of up to seven years and fine,” he said in the statement.
Ahsmon also sought cooperation from members of the public to provide any information regarding the incident by contacting Investigating officer Sergeant Ceremona Nasim at 013-8554168 or come to the nearest police station.
“The public is also reminded not to act beyond the confines of the law and leave the matter to existing legal processes,” he added.
