KUCHING: A total of 246 Heads of Household (KIR) from Kampung Pulo Ulu here will be moving to the Darul Hana resettlement project after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the Department of Land and Survey (JTS) and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) are seeing to their relocation.
He revealed that the number of houses that have been completed so far in the Darul Hana resettlement by the government stood at 564 houses.
“So from that total number (564 houses), 318 KIR from Kampung Panglima Seman Lama and Kampung Semarang have moved under the first phase.
“So the next process of assessment and so on has begun and God willing, the remaining 246 houses will be allocated to the residents (of Kampung Pulo Ulu) officially after this Hari Raya,” he said.
He said this to reporters after completing the symbolic installation of road signs and lanes at the Darul Hana housing area here today (Apr 3).
Abdul Rahman, who is Pantai Damai assemblyman, stated that the development of Darul Hana will continue until completion for all villages.
He said that besides building houses, the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), Housing Development Corporation (HDC) will provide infrastructure for the community here.
“I have proposed to the ministry and also to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to build a multipurpose hall for the community as well as a kindergarten.
“Similarly, the need for business premises to be built in this area and several sports facilities such as futsal courts, petanque fields, sepak takraw courts, and so on,” he added.
He said that if this proposal is accepted, construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.
